Gas processors engage in the processing of natural gas into a merchantable pipeline
gas, volume movement, or further processing of liquid products from natural gas. Also known as Gas to liquid or GTL, gas processing is a refinery process to convert natural gas or other gaseous hydrocarbons into longer-chain hydrocarbons. Methane-rich gases are converted into liquid fuels. Using such processes, refineries can convert some of their gaseous waste products into valuable fuel oils, which can be sold as is or blended with Diesel fuel. This process will be increasingly significant as crude oil resources are depleted, while natural gas supplies are projected to last into the 22nd century.
